Class of 2030 application deadline is March 31, 2025. (Classes would start in the Fall of 2025)
All applicants must apply through the online process.
Step 1. Create a TradeSchool account. Use https://secure.tradeschoolinc.com/v5/jatc26-org/login/index.php to visit the TradeSchool login page. Click on “create account”, complete the email and password fields. You will receive an email from messaging@secure.tradeschoolinc.com, it may go to your spam folder. Open the email and click on the TradeSchool link. This will allow you to enter your account information and submit it for approval. If you are not a member of Local 26 leave the member # field blank. If you do not hold a classification from Local 26 then please select “unclassified”. (Approval may take several days) Upon receiving your acceptance email from TradeSchool you will be able to login and start your online application. A $50 processing fee is payable before you can begin entering information into your application.
Step 2. Login to TradeSchool using your email and the password you created, in step one. Click on the application tab to begin the application process. From the drop-down menu, select a specific program application. The following options are all apprenticeship programs, but vary by location and type. (Inside Metro Area – 5 year apprenticeship to become inside journeyman, training in the DC metro and surrounding area; Inside Roanoke Area – 5 year apprenticeship to become inside journeyman, training in Roanoke and the surrounding area; Telecommunications Metro Area – 3 year apprenticeship to become telecommunications technician, training in the DC metro and surrounding area)
Step 3. In addition to uploading documents into your TradeSchool application, you MUST contact your former/current school and ask them to send a digital copy of your transcripts directly to the JATC. Copy the JATC on the email request to your school by adding our email, apply@jatc26.org, on the cc line. Your institution should “reply all” to your request so the transcripts come directly to our inbox. If the only option your school provides is hard copy mailing, then please have your transcripts mailed to the address below or you can mail them directly to us unopened and sealed. If we have verified ALL of your documents in the past, please email us at apply@jatc26.org in order to receive a new test date.

JATC Local 26 will not approve PTSI account application requests submitted on skillsprep.org. To be affiliated with IBEW/NECA thru JATC 26 you need to be a Residential Trainee. Residential Trainees already have PTSI accounts and can’t login to the skillsprep.org site as a member. If you need help accessing your PTSI account as a Local 26 Residential Trainee, please verify you have an active subscription. If you need an extension on your subscription, you should log into your TradeSchool account, view the class schedule tab, and proceed with enrollment in the Residential CML/PTSI 12-month Access course. If you are not a Residential Trainee with JATC 26, click the link “I’m not affiliated” and proceed with your skillsprep.org registration.
