Working Under the Technology Services Agreement, Communications Installer Program
If you choose to go out to work as a participant in the Communications Installer Program you will be working under the Technology Services Agreement between International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 26 and Washington, D.C. Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association. This agreement defines all aspects of the work, pay, and benefits you will receive under the classifications of Comm Installer, Technician and Senior Technician. The scope of work under the agreement is limited to sound and voice transmissions, video systems, security systems, and communications systems. If you are considering employment under this agreement, it would benefit you to get a copy of the full agreement from Local 26 so you can compare this program to the Residential Training Program and the Inside Metro Apprenticeship program. Each program will be different in the type of work, pay scales, benefits and required training.
